Holidays

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 18, 2010, 8:59 PM
I've been busy with commissions and gift making so I've not been able to post here as much as I'd like. If I'm able to get pictures of the crafts I've been working on I'll post those, but I can't find my camera. I'll have to get the folks receiving stuff to take pics for me.

I made it through the NaNoWriMo with 50,053 words but the story isn't done yet. I'm still thinking about making the "novel" into a graphic one but still need a ton of practice art-wise to pull that off. I've not drawn a thing in ages except on canvas.

Any way, I hope you all have wonderful holidays and I'll be seeing you again in the new year!

Much
Lui

I've decided to jump on the wagon and join National Novel Writing Month to get this story out of my head and onto paper, or screen. I won't be as active come the month of November so that I may concentrate on writing. I do have a few knitting and crocheting projects I've been working on recently that I hope to post, as soon as I find my camera.

I'll check in to clear out messages but if you don't hear from me directly, have no fear, I'm most likely still alive and kicking. (And sometime in November, probably screaming too.)

Love to all!
Lui

Learning process

I've been practicing in Corel Painter because when Adobe Photoshop continued to crash, the friend who fixed my computer replaced it. I signed up on Lynda.com and have been playing around with the tools. I think the pastels have been coming out nicely and may continue this style for a while to get the hang of the tools in Painter.

What do you think of the floral pastels?

Should I stick to cartoons? lol The faces were the first things I drew in Painter with the idea in mind that I'd start a webcomic soon.

I like being able to do, or at least try, different styles and mediums (even if it is in Painter) but never know which I should stick to for a while. Which one I should work on 'perfecting'.

I'm open to suggestions and tips you may have.
Thanks for the help!

March of Dimes auctions are up

Journal Entry: Sun Aug 22, 2010, 12:52 AM

Go to Ebay and check out slfx2's items up for bid. Every card sold, or in my case group of cards sold, will go directly to The March of Dimes. A great opportunity to help save a life, and you get a collectible trader's card with your donation. :blowkiss:

MARCH OF DIMES Contributions needed

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 1, 2010, 9:51 PM

From Steve Frank:

"Hello. This is the third year of our annual sketch card drive to raise money for March of Dimes. We have had a lot of success in the past and we hope to continue.

We are asking artists to do five cards each (any subject matter). The cards will be auctioned on eBay with all of the proceeds going to March of Dimes.

This is not a 5FINITY project, so whatever you donate is completely up to you. We will send the blank sketch cards to you. The cards will be sent out soon for an August 15 deadline. Please let me know if you can contribute. Thank you for the consideration. Steve"

For anyone interested or if you have any questions, please contact Steve at steve4mod@gmail.com

If you can't participate, you can help by spreading the word!!

Thank you :D
